I would do anything for love but that

Forget it now or find a girl who will.

I would do anything for love but that

I would swim the seas, climb the stars,

Break my chains, shatter bars.

I’d chase the moon, outrun the sun,

Fight a battle never won.

I’d sing your name to skies above,

Yes, I’d do anything for love.

I’d weather storms that tear apart,

Carve your name into my heart.

I’d walk through fire, face the ache,

Give all I have, for your sake.

Yes, I’d do anything for love.

Except for that.

that one thing? No way, no how.

I love you still, just not right now.

For love is grand, a daring feat,

A song that’s bold, yet bittersweet.

I’d do it all, the highs, the lows

But that? My dear, the answer’s no.

I would do anything for love

Yet no way would I ever do that NO.

To me this poem is telling me to trust someone. Good job.

Wondering what that might be, but of course there should always been something, that you wouldn't do even for love or the loved one, just in respect of your self. Otherwise you would be eaten alive. Well written!!
