I Work Too Often

At this rate I should be dead

By savage writerPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Sir with the burgundy coat

The wild, loose hairdo

The bleached blue jeans,

the black athletic sneakers

The artist with the touch

Sophisticated, grounding vocabulary

Yes you

I know you know that I’m talking to you

I know

Sir with the free spirit, relaxed state of mind

The enlightened decalcified eye

The state of mind only an overachiever could possess

The aura which can make everyone pay attention

in any room that he enters

Yes you

I know you know that I’m talking to you

Sir sitting at the desk with his notebook

running low on pages, did you write your raps on all of them?

With a pen on the last leg of its ink

With a fondness of poetry only a poet could possess

Yes you

I know you know that I’m talking to you

No need to point to yourself or turn your head

I know you know that I’m talking to you

Sir who lives in the City of Newark

That graduated from three dungeons, onto his fourth one

Aspiring to be the next huge sensation amongst

those in and outside of his designated profession

Wait a minute, he already is

Just don’t know who he is yet

Sir who wants to become a rapper again

Yes you

I know you know that I’m talking to you

Maybe we’re too familiar with one another

Maybe we possess too much information on each other

Maybe we’re the same exact person, like

The EXACT same person

Yes you

I know you know that I’m talking to you
