I Woke Up This Morning

I woke up this morning, just another day

The sky full of clouds, but that’s okay

Because I woke up this morning, alive and breathing

Another day to watch my daughter, growing and teething

With all that is wrong in the world, she is my light

So pure and innocent, A smile so bright

Another chance to hold her, another chance to breathe air

Another chance to make eggs and bacon, the perfect breakfast pair

Another day full of laughter, another day full of cheer

Another day longer, another day my dear

The sky may be gray, but time will tell
