I Woke up on the Right Side of the Mountain

Passing the mountains by

By Rowan Finley Published 7 years ago 1 min read

In the morning when I wake up, my mind races through pastures that I've dreamed of and walked through. My heart is wildly free and the daily dew is laying low, greeting my coat. I will not be tamed by any hand or mind who desires to break me.

I will not be broken.

I was made to be the way that I am, running refreshes my spirit. Running renews me daily. When I am tired at the end of the day, I know it was all worth it. Muscles kneaded and utilized, leading me to streams of living waters that bring me peace and stillness.

I will not be broken.

No whip will taste my hide. No bullet will graze my side. No bridle will guide me down a road. No rope will lead me away because I am free. Rambunctious and rowdily racing through fields of glory until the day nature sees fit to bring me down to the gracious ground.

I will not be broken.
