I wish we could be friends

We’d get along great

But I got some issues to fix

I think you got the same

If I tell you mine, will you tell me yours

I bet we can relate

It could just be that we’ve been pitted against each other since we learned how to speak

I tell myself I’m not that person but every time we converse, our conversations end up bleak

It’s not you, it’s me

or maybe it’s you and not me

I see you look my way the same way I do to you

Competition is all we see

I know you suffer too

Tell me how to get through this

You’re the heather anyway,

Am I your heather too?
