I Wish I Had Wasted Much More Time
A Poem

I wish I had wasted much more time,
If wasting it would mean that I could see you more.
I wish I had taken my eyes off the screen,
So I could turn and tell you how my day had been.
I wish I had wasted much more time,
If wasting it would mean that I could hear you more.
I'd listen as you hum your favorite song,
And maybe at times, I could even hum along.
I wish I had wasted much more time,
If wasting it would mean I'd spend more time with you.
We'd waste the morning as we watch the rising sun,
We'd waste our evenings simply looking at the stars.
O, if only I could waste more hours,
And if only I could turn back time,
I'd waste more of it doing nothing,
If it means spending all my days with you.
When you come to think of it,
The only time that I wasted,
Were the hours and the minutes,
That I spent away from you.
