I wish I thought a little deeper.
Like if I saw the North pole -
When others saw the freezer.
I wish I spoke a little louder.
Like each word wasn't a bullet -
That from myself I have to cower.
I wish I stood a little taller.
Like I wasn't afraid of my own shadow -
Or of what to call her.
I wish I smiled a little bigger.
Like I was signing a beautiful painting -
And I was happy to share her.
I wish I walked a little slower.
Like existing didn't scare me -
And in my feet, there was power.
I wish I wrote a little faster.
Like I didn't fear getting it out -
Or what it would uncover.
I wish I wished a little less.
Like I liked what I already had -
And didn't have to wish about the rest.
About the Creator
Sarah O'Grady
I like to play with words to escape reality. Or at least to try and make sense of it.
