I wear my colours with pride

Comfortable in my own skin

By Margaret Sinclair Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Like a shaft of light through a prism

My personality has so many colours

Unique like a pure white snowflake

Diverse as the palette of the rainbow.

Kindness and empathy warms in orange and golds

A therapist, I bring calm and understanding

Shining light into the darkest of places

Foreboding shadows made small.

Love and passion heats my pinks and reds

Pride fills me being the wife of my wife

Honour of being a daughter, sister and aunt

Warmed by the love of my friends.

Mischievous and playful my spring greens

A glint in my eye as a plan forms

The cacophony of laughter fills the room

Like music notes that glow in the dark.

I am proud to be who I have grown to be

Moulded by life experiences

Armour painted by the universe

With pride I wear my colours for all to see.
