I Want To Be Your First Line
Write me into your poetry. Let me be your muse.
By Caitlyn WenzelPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

I don’t want to be your “first time,”
I want to be your first line.
I want to hear your voice
muttering metaphors,
me, trembling within the timbre of your verses,
perfectly imperfect in their performance.
An untrained tongue
tasked with unrestrained love,
leaking from your lips like similes.
You’ll have me ensconced in your stanzas
and hanging onto your every word…
Touch my heart with ink stained finger tips
and tear away my patchwork walls,
because I want to be your poetry.
About the Creator
Caitlyn Wenzel
I don't live to write, I write to live.
Poetry is what I need in order to feel human again, and again.
Let me transform the unspeakable.
I hope my words can reach you.
