I’ve Worn Beauty, I’ve Worn Pan
Life’s Highs and Lows

I’ve worn beauty
And I’ve worn pain.
I’ve learned to capture
Memories
Because sometimes
People fade.

I’ve stood up
And stood tall
Fought for
A little girl
Who deserved
It All
Auntie and so
Much more,
My niece
Who feels
More like a
Daughter.

I’ve learned
So much from watching
Her grow
And now she’s
A Mother.

I’ve carried
The weight of
Heartache
And I’ve watched
As others try
To break
Her spirits
When I was
Telling her
She could fly.

I’ve known physical pain
Piercing,
Stabbing,
Muscles at war
With each other
But there’s something
Far more painful
The pain of watching
Someone you love
Suffer.
Faith bring solace
Jesus is my rock
But I wouldn’t be
Honest
If I didn’t admit
I’ve been shaken.

But life unfolds
In beauty
And in pain
We all get a
Little dirty
Before we
Bloom.
