I've seen it all
a lantern's tale
By Jada FergusonPublished 3 months ago • Updated 3 months ago • 1 min read

All
Every bit of a thing
the pebble to the caterpillar
the candy bar rapper
to the ant who lost its' colony
-
All the bits of the things
did not move under the bulb
-
They all tumbled around the fire
paralyzed in nothingness
time really really
stood still
-
What we all begged for
materialized
-
All the things
stood the stillest of still
-
Time held its tongue out for droplets of fire
to numb leaflets of nothingness
-
I swear I don't know what anything should be called
All I know is that this lantern capsulized it
All
-
None of the things moved
past the light in the decorated cage
-
I ease my fingers along
the putrid scales of mendacity
I beckon the block to dissolve
-
But the lantern's wizardry dictates solidarity
-
All the things loom under the light
