I’ve been having Nightmares…
Was it something I ate …?
I’ve been having nightmares
At least I suppose you would call them that
In no normal sleep cycle
Would I go to a posh restaurant and have them cook and then eat my cat!….
Or discover a person I know vaguely
With half of both legs missing
Bloody stumps casually accepted
“Just push me in a chair”
What particular synapses
Are misfiring here?
I love sleep;don’t get me wrong
Usually I sleep deeply
Like a drugged warthog
Snuffling and impervious to being woken
My dreams are either forgotten
Or contain someone or something helpful or at least pleasant
They certainly don’t leave me bolted awake
Juddering uneasily.
I’ve been having nightmares
What will happen
When I next close my eyes..?
