I Thought I Made You Angry

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

Verse]

Your eyes were like storms thundering through the night

Your hard gaze leveled everything in sight

You looked like a bruiser, a man itching for a fight

I couldn't figure out why you kept staring at me all night

[Chorus]

I thought I made you angry

Your eyes were so clouded and dark

But it was the pull

It was the gravity

Of connecting with your twin heart

It wasn't flirting, it wasn't a tease

Just something that felt meant to be

The recognition that you weren't alone

Understanding you'd finally found your home

It took me too long to see you were also MY home

[Verse 2]

There was darkness in your words and songs

Compelling my lips and heart to Sing along

Your haunted beauty, a ghostly grace

I was both fascinated and afraid

[Chorus]

I thought I made you angry

Your eyes were so clouded and dark

But it was the pull

It was the gravity

Of connecting with your twin heart

It wasn't flirting, it wasn't a tease

Just something that felt meant to be

The recognition that you weren't alone

Understanding you'd finally found your home

It took me too long to see you were also MY home

[Bridge]

Your darkness scared me

Yet I felt a certain thrill

I just wasn't ready to

surrender my will

it took me too long to understand

and give in

Chorus]

I thought I made you angry

Your eyes were so clouded and dark

But it was the pull

It was the gravity

Of connecting with your twin heart

It wasn't flirting, it wasn't a tease

Just something that felt meant to be

The recognition that you weren't alone

Understanding you'd finally found your home

It took me too long to see you were also MY home
