I See You

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago 1 min read

You're always at the corner of my eye,

peeking through when you think I can't see.

You claim you're in love, but does she know it's not with her?

Do you look at her the same way you look at me,

or is this our secret?

I can't live being someone's forbidden fruit, forever temptation

never giving in and letting go of the chains holding us back.

but I was always enchanted with forbidden romance,

never expecting to be writing it from first-person perspective,

and still wanting it anyway.

But it's your choice,

choose to keep her

or choose to keep seeing me.

The tension between desire and restraint is palpable in this poem. You've captured the complexity of forbidden love so beautifully. Great work
