I Saw Eyes Watching Me

"I Saw Those Eyes"

(Verse 1)

I saw those eyes staring at me,

Drawn by hands of artistry.

Hiding behind a curtain’s sway,

Playing, running, slipping away.

I reached my hand and rubbed my sight,

Thought I was dreaming—could it be right?

Oh my, oh Lord, what a view!

May the stars shine down on you.

Oh, Ihsan, you're so bright,

Clever, playful, full of light.

Always running, always free,

Hiding where I cannot see.

Passing by before my sleep,

Scratching softly—wake from deep!

Come and play, let's jump so high,

Touch the moon, up to the sky.

But you pout when I climb too tall,

Still, we chase and play it all.

Running fast, then off we fly,

Till we dream beneath the sky.

Now we rest, the game is done,

Wrapped in dreams till the morning sun.

  • The line where you describe seeing beyond the surface, into the soul, really stuck with me. It’s a powerful reminder of the way we connect with others on a deeper level, sometimes without even realizing it.
