I saw the light

A poem

I drowned in the unknown vastness

As the endless void tried to swallow

My struggles to break through the surface

As I tried to get out of the dark depths below

The fight left me as I listened to the silence

I surrendered and went with the flow

No longer resisting the current of life

Succumbing to the pure energy

Hearing the call of authenticity

I found my strength when I let myself be weak

I prayed for the strength to be kind

And found myself invincible

I begged for my ego to die

And came out unburdened and free

I became whole when I let myself break

Allowing the light to enter in me

Illuminating my darkest fears

Rendering them into dust

My tears were my purification

My sorrow became my salvation

Suffering the path that led to gratitude

I shook myself from the confines of misery

For I have accepted the darkness within

Letting it envelop me in its embrace

Blinded as I was, I closed my eyes to see

The path that was filled with thorns

Opening my wounds, making them bleed

And yet where blood flew, flowers bloomed

For I found the artist within, setting it free

I became full when I realized I was empty

And all this time the darkness existed around me

To show me that my light shines brightly
