I reach out for the light
But am met with only night

I reach out for the light
Fingers reaching wide
But am met with only night
.
My bones feel wound too tight
All those fairytales, they lied
But I reach out for the light
.
My core is knotted fright
Though from stone I’ve bravery pried
But am met with only night
.
Tell me, will I be alright?
My hands are all but tied,
So I reach out for the light
.
The future calls, it invites
But not enough tears have I cried
I am met with only night
.
My voice grows thin despite
The sparks I’ve struck inside
So I reach out for the light
But am met with only night
