I Miss You, Japan
It's been more than a year
"I'm sorry," my husband told me recently.
I had just returned from a trip to Singapore,
Where friends shared with me how amazing their Japan trip went.
I had travelled solo to Japan in May 2023, just before the wedding.
Almost never came back,
For I fell in love.
Fortunately, my love for my husband was greater
I kept pestering him to return
To no avail.
Life happened.
He apologised to me for breaking this dream,
But I said it hasn't been shattered.
I still have hope.
But I do miss, Oh Tokyo,
City of lights,
City of culture,
City of all things efficient,
And oh, tasty.
I miss you, Oh Tokyo,
For your comfort and warmth
For the anxiety you brought about
To this already anxious mind
Only to provide calm and respite
For all things just worked out well.
Beautiful things.
Serene things amidst chaos
Delicious picks amidst variety
Friendly smiles amidst hustle and bustle
I bow to you Oh Tokyo
Only to hope to bow to you again.

wow amazing
Nice name
Thank you for sharing.
You make me want to visit there too, by your enchanting description. I do hope one day you get the chance to go back there, you and your husband.
Tokyo is famous for its bright and colorful lights, especially at night. By the way, a poem is as beautiful as Tokyo.
Man you make Japan seem so appealing.
Well, yea.
He apologized. Oh! Japan
Japanese people are generally known for being kind, helpful, and polite
I hope you get to visit Japan again. Loved your poem+
