I Miss You But...

...you don't care

By Khadijah ClementePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I miss you, but you don't care.

He could never stay long,

He had to go home.

His life was over there.

My home was him here.

Murderer.

Long distance killing me slowly,

Leaving me numb and frozen.

I wanted to cry,

But weakness defied me.

And instead showed pride.

Scream, be angry!

But even my feelings,

Started to betray me.

I'll miss you,

He waved goodbye.

I'll see you soon,

He lied.

I stared at the door for some time.

Webs and dust,

Months and years,

Dried up tears,

Doesn't loosen the lock,

His face and voice,

Void from memory.

I cared to remember him.

But did he care to remember me?
