I Miss Sports

I miss sports.

I miss the sound a ball makes dribbling down the court,

where the King lays claim to his throne,

and all the Clippers and Bucks wait to make their run,

at the ever present polished stone.

I miss the crack of the bat in the brisk spring air,

where a Judge presides and a Trout thrives,

as the boys in blue make claims to their bases,

and the impressionable youth look on with stars in their eyes.

I miss the rush of adrenaline that a kickoff brings,

as modern day gladiators sprint towards each other,

and the game can change on just one play,

with causes men to become legends in the eyes of everyone and their mother.

I miss sports and I know a lot of you do as well,

but in this world for now we will do without,

and help to keep each safe we stand apart,

as soon the world will return to normal; in that I have no doubt.
