I Miss My Mam
I miss her voice, soft in the dark,
words so warm, steady and true.
The scent of home still lingers near,
a trace of comfort, faint but clear.
Her hands once held my trembling own,
a shield against the cold unknown.
Now silence lingers where she stood,
an empty space that once felt good.
I speak her name, the air stays still,
no whispered answer, no soft thrill.
Yet in the hush, I feel her near,
a shadow cast by love sincere.
The days move on, but not for me,
time stumbles where she used to be.
No morning light, no evening shade,
can mend the loss that will not fade.
I miss her more than words can say,
a hollow ache that stays each day.
If love could reach beyond the sky,
I’d hold her close, not say goodbye.
The world moves on, but I remain,
caught in the tide of love and pain.
No voice, no touch, no soft embrace,
just memories time won’t erase.
She lingers in the things I see,
a laugh, a song, a cup of tea.
And though she’s gone, she stays the same,
forever mine in love and name.
