I Met My Younger Self For Coffee

I met my younger self for coffee,

she told me she loved horses

I told her I love dragons.

She said she loves to read fairytales

I said I still do, but with a twist.

She explained her favorite snack is cheez-its

I explained how I don't have favorites anymore.

She told me about Harry Potter

I told her about Fourth Wing.

She loves Doctor Who

I still do.

She said she loves tarot cards

I showed her my collection of decks I own.

She mentioned reading 2 books in a month

I mentioned reading 2 per day in a month.

She hopes to be a teacher one day

I said that I teach in a different way now.

She loves music and especially loves to sing

I show her my violin and what songs I love to sing.

She looks at me and I look at her

we couldn't be more different and still the same.

She asks me if I'm happy

and I tell her yes, I am.
