I meant it when I said forever.

a sonnet for S

By Daniel KPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

I've lost sleep over you, even my mind

the world keeps spinning, I wish it would still

I scan each room, your face I never find

your absence caused a void I cannot fill

Your voice, to me, is sweeter than the rain

though time may tell you that I've forgotten

it's thoughts of you that help erase my pain

how I held your face, your skin like cotton

I don't have much, but I would give it all

to see you again, and ever after

with you by my side, there's no task too tall

I would happily die in your laughter

Your name remains forever on my lips

the way I would hold you within my grip

About the Creator

Daniel K

I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
