I’m Your Villain

poetry

By CadmaPublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 2 min read

There are fire opals and sunstones raging in my veins,

a molten clock that only beats when you appear

A kiln inside me where the sun you give me glow

a quiet furnace that warms only when you are near.

My love is a lighthouse and a lock and it guides and it secures.

I will be the long watch, the unblinking sentry at your door

no sword drawn, only a heat that never fades, keeping your nights clear of shadow.

my heart skips cadence, finds its private rhythm in your name,

and when it does, a quieter terror wakes a special, holy pain.

My soul pirouettes in the moon’s blade, catching light like knives,

and I understand how twin flames find each other in the dark

how love can be a lantern and a weapon both,

how the part of me you keep that frightens me I hold tenderly

the part that would trade dawn for dust just to see your face.

I say I love you every day…a prayer, a pledge, a ritual I never miss

and you answer me with such generosity; the world seems less sharp.

From the first moment my world rearranged, I learned this truth

you make me better for the worse, whole with my jagged edges.

Sometimes I think you underestimate how slowly I’d watch the world burn

Just for inconveniencing your happy face

Not just by blood, but war of psychology that would make God question

Why did he put me here?

And I would only tell them to protect those who are dear.

I’d pillage everything just for you, I understand just how one can go dark

From a love so bright that a slight fog can be enough to light a spark

This villain era is not a costume I’ll hang up tomorrow;

it’s a covenant inked under a burning sky. I mean it…no theatrics

I would burn down the doubts, raze every whisper that would harm you,

move like thieves at midnight with dragon-fire in my palms.

For anyone who breathes ill toward your name, who crosses your small sacred map

I would be a storm with teeth; I would be the reason night remembers morning.

You don’t need a savior, you need a witness, and I am that witness

a flame that hushes and a fury that keeps to the edges until needed.

My rage is an ember that lives for you alone…silent, eternal

and in that quiet heat you will always have a kingdom.

"I would be a storm with teeth; I would be the reason night remembers morning." "I would burn down the doubts, raze every whisper that would harm you," "Sometimes I think you underestimate how slowly I’d watch the world burn Just for inconveniencing your happy face" I loveeeeee these lines the most!
