I’m Partial To Black

“I’m partial to black”’, I’m quick to say

Because I live in it everyday.

Black is beautiful, the chicest hue

But next on my list, is navy blue.

I associate navy with the ocean and sea

Sailors traveling the world for all to envy.

‘Popeye the Sailor Man’, a childhood daze.

Silly love stories to my navy craze.

Sailor suits and nautical themes

Ascend to the top in my designer dreams

Next to hues of black and the blues

Something has to be said for that dazzling red.

Hearts, Love and a Romantic Rose Bouquet

Lipstick, Dresses, and Valentine’s Day.

Rainbows are beautiful for all to see

Each color represents diversity

But no matter how many colors, I’m sticking with three.

I’m black and I’m proud. That’s it. That’s me.
