I’m not a robot

I am the storm

By Kimberlee CulbertPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

That morning held fast, the blurred mundane task. In the space white noise permeates, hid an unravelled mask.

A reflection passed by from the corner of my eye as the mirror of age brew the colour of the sky. It glowed hot with embers, a warning per se? Who was I to know with my robot ways.

As I continued my task, down the rabbit hole, my cask. The constriction and blackness of a place without cheer, I grasped at the mask to protect me from fear.

The pressure pushed outward, with no place to go. Lightening darted as I shot out the hole.

What began as darkness like an ebony knight, turned grey as though infused with light. Fists tight and arms rigid, reached up for the sky, no one to catch me or teach me to fly.

From the belly of my inner child I started to cry as gale force winds matched the weather outside.

A pounding began like the beat of a drum, the rhythm of my heart crest the heat of the sun. The thrashing of hail edged the sickly green sea, for cruelty it’s name and punishing howl left unseen.

The fury appeared as I released my fear. The wail, the scream, the empowered cheer! Gasps of air pulled from above to below then out sucked from the vacuum a hidden sorrow.

Silence surrounded with a deafening stare as I met my reflection with tears in my hair.

The calm of the sea brought light to the day, shades of YInMn blue wiped the grey away. The clouds part ways with a peaceful resolve, an opening of forgiveness and freedom to evolve.

One fertile step forward with solid foundation bestow, I raise my gaze above me to the double rainbow.

The vibrancy exquisite with delicate flow, the softness reflected to my aura below.

Whispered softly I spoke... I’m not a robot or a condemned mundane, this illusion of darkness is only a game. Into the light of a double rainbow, I flew to the colours leaving my reflection below.
