Remember me every day, not just once a year

I'm a veteran

I flew the planes

So we could stop the death trains.

I'm a veteran

I manned the artillery

to stop the dictatorship pillory.

I'm a veteran

I did my part to make everyone free

but now I'm older

and it's getting harder to see.

I'm a veteran

I willingly entered into the fray

and while I appreciate

Independence Day

Please don't forget me

on the other days, okay?
