I Love To Live Where There Are Four Distinct Seasons
I couldn't live anywhere else. No snowbirding for me
Fall is a beautiful time of year
leaves turning color, then tear
up for the thoughts of what's to come
I know what's coming, I'm not dumb
I love this country. And all of the seasons
And I have way too many reasons
to appreciate this state and all
that it has to offer. Summer is a ball
and then there is the beauty of fall
Winter is fun because we ski, ice fish,
sled, and cook my favorite dish
We make snowmen and women,
snow angels and more for the children
Then there is spring, new growth, lack
of new snow, it's melted, birds are back
The trees are starting to bud everywhere
color appearing here and there
Then back to summer, riding motorcycles
fishing, hikes, bikes, ice cream, and popsicles.
Author's Note: As I walk outside my house, I notice the beautiful leaves are coming off the trees. Rain and wind will do that. I note that it won't be long until the snowbirds are gone. I miss my friends who go south in the winter and return mid-spring. One friend is only leaving for a month this year! I will see her more!

A great poem, Denise. I only experienced life in America for three years. There was for me, a certain excitement about the changing seasons and the way they were so pronounced compared to seasonal changes in Australia.
Oooo, what's your favourite dish during winter?
Such a lovely reflection on the rhythm of the seasons! I love how you capture the joy in each one.
Love this, Denise, because is exactly how I feel too… and what is your favorite dish?🤗
