With eyes of emerald, topaz, jade,
A gaze that pierces, unafraid,
The cat, a creature whiskered, wise,
A hunter's heart in soft disguise.
Their purrs, a rumble deep and low,
A soothing balm that bids us slow,
A gentle knead, a rhythmic bliss,
A moment's peace, a stolen kiss.
They stalk their prey with silent tread,
A pounce, a leap, a ribbon red,
A dangling toy, a feathery prize,
The glint of mischief in their eyes.
They curl in laps, a furry weight,
A rumbling warmth to dissipate
The chill of night, the lonely hour,
A friend so near, a source of power.
They guard our homes from unseen foes,
The rustle of a breeze that blows,
A sudden chirp, a bird outside,
The hunter's instinct, deep inside.
They speak in meows and chirps so sweet,
A language soft, though incomplete,
A flick of tail, a twitching ear,
Their moods conveyed, both far and near.
They bathe themselves with meticulous care,
A ritual precise, a feline prayer,
Their coats so sleek, a polished sheen,
A regal air, a purring queen.
Independent souls, yet drawn to touch,
A fleeting moment, loved so much,
A head bunt soft, a gentle rub,
A silent pact, a trust we've dubbed.
They grace our lives with playful leaps,
Acrobatic feats on window creeps,
A daring climb, a fearless fall,
They land on feet, defying all.
They sleep the day in sunlit squares,
Unfurling dreams with absent stares,
A twitching whisker, a flick of paw,
Chasing phantoms in a silent claw.
At night they prowl, with senses keen,
Explorers bold, where shadows glean,
A rustle in the bushes deep,
Secrets whispered that we can't keep.
They judge us not, these creatures wise,
With knowing gaze and amber eyes,
They see our hearts, our deepest fears,
And offer solace, through the years.
A loyal friend, a constant chum,
A furry shadow, never glum,
A source of joy, a reason to smile,
The cat, a treasure for a little while.
So let us cherish every purr,
Each playful pounce, each gentle stir,
For in their presence, we find grace,
A furry friend, a loving space.
