I Looked Good On Paper

~

By Rowan Finley Published about a year ago 1 min read

It didn't matter how much I worked for her,

she would never love me.

It didn't matter how many love notes I wrote her,

she would never love me.

It didn't matter how many flowers or gifts I bought her,

she would never love me.

It didn't matter how many tears I cried over her,

she would never love me.

So why did I try so hard, for so long, if it was all in vain?

Ooh! It hits like a heart-to-heart chat, all deep feels wrapped up in “why did I even bother?” I've always seen you in a most Jolly and friendly mood but this side of yours literally made me sad—hopefully now you're doing amazing. 😊✨
