Oh too soon it was gone

I knew Love Once In My Life

Love lived once

My heart once soft and free, now a stone.

Love lived here but died an early death.

To wake up with a meaning, I knew love.

Love died, my happy heart turned to stone.

To look in his eyes and see my whole future,

The feeling of being someone's all was good.

Like glass dreams shattered, oh my heart,

This isn't how it was written, not at the start.

Longing for his smile, to look in his eyes,

Feeling like I was so lucky; I won first prize.

The warmth of his lips, touch of his hand,

Love died, oh my heart, so much pain inside.

Love lived here once; I felt every beat exciting.

Then it was gone, now my heart's uninviting.

Eyes filled with tears, bitterness inside so deep,

A heart broken, a memory of what was to keep.

I knew love once; it was good,

Then it died, my heart now dead,

drowned by tears I cried. I knew love; it was good,

then too soon it was gone,

A shattered person with a broken heart lives on.

Such a sad poem, but even the sad ones make one think of what to do in some situations. Good job.
