I Hope Death Sounds Like...

I hope death sounds like you, like them, like everyone I've ever loved speaking to me.

When we're in the car and you sing, I try to soak it in and absorb the moment,

I focus on creating a memory that will last, even at 80 with dementia.

I do the same thing with the sound of my children's laughter.

Those are the sounds I want to hear when I die,

My kids laughing and you singing in the car.

The less you know, the more you hear.
