I hold me your love

a poem

By Marcel Reis-VermeilPublished 4 years ago β€’ 1 min read

I hold me your love

Here in my heart

Warmth as of a womb

With its old ocean sounds,

Your voice rises from foam,

The only siren in this sea change,

And awakens movement in the water

And opened up the air

And stirred the sleeping life

Down in the deepest of the sea.

I hold me your love

And it inspires your strong song

And you sing it all to me.

Because I hold your love for me

Because I hold to me your love

Because I hold my love for you

I forgive all

And only the beautiful is true.

I hold me your love

Here in my mind

Is a mapping of the stars

That transforms as it details

The stones of heaven shooting

As they dilate the frame of outer space,

And yet in the chaos of those visions

Not one planet is uprooting

Not one galaxy is out of place

And they create a logic out of mess

And all the cosmos compose one image:

The construction of your face.

I hold me your love

And you give off the light of paradise

And it shines out as it gathers in one place

Split evenly in your open eyes.

Because I love your hold on me

Because my love for you keeps hold

Because your hold on me is love

I can hold on and on.
