I Heard a Voice — It Was From a Woman

The pain

They made me burn, They left me scars

Still, I stand unbroken and shine like a star

I heard a voice, It was from a woman.

They made me feel embarrassed, they made me hide

That was my skin, my pride which kept me feeling alive.

They made me silent, they touched my respect

My pain was deep, but my will was strong.

I turned my tears into my fight, I found my strength in my darkest night.

I heard a voice, It was from a woman.

After all my pain, my kindness still stays

My heart still shines, No one can steal my grace

I heard a voice, It was from a woman.
