I Have Rewritten

Energy blooms within my swirling inner waves.

A vibrant force so powerful it can set fire to the abyss,

I need my transformation to become a dance of light,

Where every heartbeat and rhythmical breathing

Become part of the whole healthy hope I yearn for.

I have rewritten everything

I am still rewriting,

I’m on a journey to better myself.

I have written above the trails of mud

Above the abysses of darkness

Above the words spoken in two minds,

Of the iced look in the gazes of people

And of the un-embraced who cannot love.

I am filled with your love, seeping through

In all the handmade ditches that others

Have dug into my heart, crisscrossed crevices,

Because they did not know or want to understand me fully.

I have filled with you

All the voids and caves and grottos.

Dark memories of subdued desires now fill with light,

An energy of spaced-out frolic, mismatched

Into all my unfinished parts and thoughts.

*

I have been carved within

By those who took advantage while I let them.

Yet now I rise above, like a phoenix from forgotten ashes,

Leaving behind a past full of limiting beliefs,

Barriers to my growth and creativity

Emerging stronger from shadows,

With my ancestors cheering for me.

Now I no longer allow

Anyone else

Except you, my pillar, my muse,

Until the end.
