I FEEL HIM

MY DAD IS A COGNISCIENT MAN

CALM, CURIOUS, and GENTLE.

I know all his depths

Joy,

Fun,

Warmth

And the deep dark underbelly

Painful recollections,

An untold past,

Anger in his voice

When he died

They referred to him in the past tense

But when the sky is blue, white, mixing into red, yellow and orange,

I FEEL HIM

When I look at the bunches of pink and white cherry blossoms

Against a bright blue sky

I FEEL HIM

When I sit in the dark

On the porch

Looking into the depths of the dark sky

To spot the sparkling white stars

The moon,

White,

Radiating from the yellow sun

I FEEL HIM

His body is gone

But I still feel him

And while the beautiful planet reminds me of true timelessness

I recall,

He is always

WITHIN ME.
