I never thought about tomorrow,
Lived each day without a plan.
Didn’t chase the things I wanted,
Didn’t try, said, “I don’t care.”
I watched the world move fast around me,
People growing, reaching high.
Still, I stayed right where I started,
Never questioned, never tried.
But then one day, it hit me hard—
Was I just meant to stay the same?
Would I look back years from now,
Filled with nothing but regret and shame?
So I stood up, faced the mirror,
Saw the person I could be.
If I wanted something better,
That change had to start with me.
Step by step, I found my purpose,
Slowly left my past behind.
Hard work built the path before me,
Dreams no longer stayed confined.
Now I know what truly matters,
Now I fight for what I need.
I almost lost myself to nothing,
But I rose— and I will lead.

The choice of words paints a vivid picture of emotional detachment. Perhaps adding a few contrasting moments of care could deepen the impact.
The theme of regret and apathy is powerful. If the poem aims to show the dangers of not caring.
The first two stanzas effectively capture the feeling of drifting through life without direction.
