I'd like to be

I'd like to be sitting on a sun filled beach

I'd like to be dancing on the waves

All wild and free.

I'd like to be on the docks fishing

While the boats keep drifting

I'd like to be summer soaked.

I'd like to fill these lungs with warm air

I'd like to sing these lungs out of breath

I'd like to write the songs that mean

Something, anything to someone.

I'd like to be so many things...

But I am just me.

I'd like to be the skinny girls running

I'd to find someone to dance the night away

I'd like to find those who get me,

Nonjudging, and there for me.

I'd like to do so many things

And be around so any people.

But I am just a girl like me.

So many things to get me dispirited.

But I choose to look at the world upside down.

So I can laugh and sing and be just plain ol' me.

I'd like to be so many things, and someday I will be.

I'll do these big dreams,

I'll do the small things,

I'll do all the things I can dream
