I Chose You
I chose you,
Not for the way the sun caught your hair
Or how the world bent when you smiled.
I chose you
In the quiet,
When the night pressed its weight against the window
And silence spoke louder than promises.
I chose you
When the days grew long and empty,
And the sky wore its dullest shade of grey.
Not for what you gave,
Not for what you said,
But for what you were
When no one was looking.
I chose you
Because somewhere in the hush of it all,
You felt like something
I could hold without breaking.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

Seems like things are looking up generally speaking. Good job.
Nice work. Question what was the trigger for this poem? You peaked my interests. :)
