I Carry the Dream

A Tribute to Unity, Sacrifice, and the Light of Justice

By T. E. DoorPublished 12 months ago 1 min read
An artistic representation inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream. The image features a diverse group of people of all ages and ethnicities, holding hands in unity, standing under a tree whose branches and leaves are formed from radiant light. The roots of the tree resemble historical movements of justice and freedom, symbolizing the sacrifices of past generations. The sky above is bright with a sunrise, signifying hope and progress, and the words 'I Carry the Dream' are subtly embedded in the clouds. The scene is peaceful and uplifting, blending realism with symbolic elements.

I carry the dream,

Of a just society,

Where light conquers darkness,

And unity blooms in adversity.

I carry the dream,

Born from the sacrifices of those before,

Who planted seeds of freedom,

And watered them with courage and hope.

I carry the dream,

Of nonviolent spirits,

Marching with the strength of love,

And the will to break every chain.

I carry the dream,

To rise above the tragedies of history,

To prove that the children of light

Can outshine the shadows of despair.

I carry the dream,

Charged to sow the seeds of democracy,

To nurture the fragile shoots of justice,

And to stand, unwavering, for truth.

I carry the dream,

Of relentless determination,

To be more zealous in love

Than the world is in hate.

I carry the dream,

To leave no silence unbroken,

No opportunity unclaimed,

For the work of peace and progress.

I carry the dream,

Not as a burden,

But as a mission,

A calling to keep moving forward.

I carry the dream,

Not for myself,

But for generations yet to come,

So they may walk free, unafraid.

I carry the dream,

As Dr. King once carried it,

As his spirit whispers still,

"Do what is required of you,

And do it with love."
