I am the rainbow

A short poem

Today I am a rainbow

With my colors displayed like a spectrum

Filtered through a prism, my hues hanging in the crisp morning breeze

I am a rainbow

Containing every shade of every color

Knowledge and fullness, uncertainty and lack, I am complete when I see all parts of myself

I am a rainbow.

Although you may try to control me, I remain elusive

Light can not be contained, just as I can not be owned. Know me, but grab at me and I will pass through your fingers

I am a rainbow.

Containing the energy of stars, but possessing none of it.

I vibrate in hues so all may see beauty, but when the sun fades away I relinquish my technicolor clothes.

I am the rainbow

Forever impermanent, but cherished the same.

Never forgotten, no matter how time may change.

Look at me and appreciate today,

But know that as with all things, I eventually willfade.
