I am the candle you’re my flame
We light up each others life

I am the candle you’re my flame
Softly whispering my name,
I am the candle, you’re the flame.
A silent spark, a fading light,
That burns too bright against the night.
Your touch ignites, but never stays,
A quiet heat that slowly frays.
Smoke drifts like secrets in the air,
A love too fierce, a cruel despair.
The wax runs thin, the shadows grow,
Desire’s ache is all I know.
A dying glow, a fragile gleam,
Caught between the spark and dream.
And when the wick is blackened through,
The flame will fade — but never you.
Softly whispering my name,
I am the candle, you the flame.

The candle and flame are metaphorically used in the poem to refer to an eternal love that is destructive. The line, "Smoke drifts like secrets in the air," is very evocative, with overtones of hidden subtleties and ephemerality in their love. It's a touching symbol of love that burns brightly but melts into smoldering embers and an enduring memory. 🌞
