I am the Bee and the Bee is Me

A Bee's Eye View of Colour

(A bee's view of colours)

According to science the bee cannot fly

With its fairy thin wings, it shouldn’t even try…

Fortunately, the bee doesn’t know,

And so it continues to see and soar.

So come fly with me for a bee’s eye view

Full of cascading colours and brightness and hue

For I am the Bee, and the Bee is me

Together we will fly and together we will see.

It is impossible to contain a person in one shade

For every being is made of a myriad that cannot fade.

People can be blind to the shades within,

But look deep inside and the barriers get thin.

I am the crimson of warm blood spilt in battle,

The green of grass trod by the feet of cattle.

I am the vermillion lips waiting for true love’s first kiss,

The explosion of colours that is pure formless bliss.

The ochre of parched earth waiting for rain,

The khaki of nourishing, life giving grain.

The amber light that infuses the dawn,

The sapphire of twilight as the sun goes down.

The iridescent black of the feather of a crow,

The collection of colours of flowers in the meadow.

The cerulean of a stream as it trickles laughing by

The deep endless blue of the azure sky.

Come fly with me and you shall see,

As I am the Bee and the Bee is me

Even the impossible says ‘I’m possible’

Together we’ll break boundaries and be phenomenal.
