I Am Not A Victim

Poetry

By Diana C.Published about a year ago 1 min read

Have you ever watched

Candle wax

Slowly melting away?

It’s more obvious

Than the destruction

Of ozone molecules for instance

But nowhere near

As painful as shattered trust

Eating away at a relationship

Resulting in complete

And utter depletion.

And I promised myself

I wouldn’t write about it

Because it’s so easy

To fall in the trap

Of pointing fingers

Just to call someone

A villain.

Every love story

Has one, doesn’t it?

But how else can one

Justify this treason?

No, I’m not a victim

Just one of the many

Injured parties

Involved with you

And your addiction.

This was such an emotional read, most likely reflecting precisely what you felt when you wrote it. Well done.
