I am not a delicate creature

I am clumsy

I am loud

I laugh too boldly

I love too hard

I sing off key

I have never had any desire to be considered a delicate creature

I am bright and strong and sometimes bigger than life

All of the females in my life are like me too

We aren’t perfect but we are real

My role models were not delicate creatures

but they taught me how to take care of the people that I love

they breathed their strength into me

They were fierce

So if you pretend to be a delicate creature I cannot support you

If you are willing to stand by my side

shoulder to shoulder and fight the good fight

then indeed- we are sisters and we belong together

and I love you for that
