I am an ocean

From: Mind’s Mirror

By Mat BarnsleyPublished about a year ago 1 min read
I am an ocean.

I am an ocean;

I am a sea.

On some days, I am calm;

On others, I am ghastly.

A storm is brewing behind these eyes,

And the seas begin to swell.

You’ll drown, my dear; mark my words—

Mine is a briny hell…

So keep your distance; stay on land.

I’m safer from afar.

I’m nice to view, but not for you;

I’m a sea, and you deserve the stars…

For I am an ocean, deep and cold.

I know that’s all I’ll be.

You try to love me, but you can’t,

So I’ll try to set you free...
