As I embrace

the lines on my paper

the infinity of life

takes the lead in our dance

of other worldly shapes,

bringing mystery and wonder

to the forefront of being.

Each “have to”

and all of the “should haves”

are composted to nourish

new beginnings.

Brave words they are

“I am an artist”

after once upon a time

being handcuffed

to attachments and conditions,

finally free to wander worlds,

while occasionally being met

with limiting beliefs to transform

in ingenious ways that render them

unrecognizable yet still allowing them to speak

to the wisdom and humor of an endless conversation.
