I am a warrior

A war cry

By NoreenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

"Here’s to the girl who shattered the chains,

The girl who fought like her life was the prize and it was.

My life, a battlefield of unspoken wars,

Fighting friends, fighting family, fighting society,

It feels like the world was trained for this fight.

Weapons drawn, their mouths the sharpest blades,

Cutting with words that dig deep,

Their eyes ablaze with fire, burning from the inside out.

They judged me but never knew my story.

They threw the first stone, the second, the third,

Intent on destruction, but you can’t break what’s already in pieces.

Still, like the Phoenix, I rise. I soar.

I fly without looking back, because I have reason,

I have will, and I have fire in my bones.

I broke free, yet nowhere to run,

Only the battle left in my blood.

A child on my back, my last breath’s hope,

And still, that tiny life is enough to renew my strength.

I rise, bruised but never beaten,

And carve my fate with hands that know no surrender.

No one will take my choice away from me,

For I am a woman forged in fire,

Holding the sharpest knife by the edge, where it cuts.

I am stone, I am mother,

And I will fight till the end of time.

“I am the storm, I am the blade, I rise, and nomatter what…
