I'm not fragile

I'm not made out of glass

I won't break

Or shatter when I crash

But I'm not impenetrable

I'm not reinforced steel

I can't keep you out forever

Or keep my heart sealed

I am a tree

Made of strong wood

The wind blows my leaves

But I stay where I stood

You can cut me down

But it's not as easy as it looks

My spirit remains

Like the roots that grow underfoot

Sharpen your ax

But I'll grow tall again

A tree is hard to cut

When it has bark for skin
