I always wanted to be your hero

Daddy’s who dream

I always wanted to be your hero,

but you notice all the things I do wrong.

I always wanted to be your hero,

but I think you’re seeing I’m not that strong.

I always wanted to be your hero,

but you know I’m just not the coolest.

I always wanted to be your hero,

but when you notice what we don’t have, I feel inadequate and foolish.

I always wanted to be your hero,

but I feel embarrassed by all the things I don’t know.

I always wanted to be your hero,

but that seems less and less possible the older you grow.

Will I ever get to be your hero?

Love the raw honesty here! Sometimes, being a hero isn’t about being perfect, but about showing up and loving anyway. You're already doing amazing! ☺️
